International Women's Day: CEMR calls on local and regional authorities to develop new awareness
In commemoration of this year’s International Women's Day, the Council of European Municipalities and Regions (CEMR) calls on local and regional authorities to develop a new awareness in regard to gender equality. “It is no longer enough to simply safeguard women’s political and social rights,” declares Frédéric Vallier, CEMR secretary general. “We must develop means to ensure that these rights are respected.”
