SDGs: “We feel the urgency to do much more”
For Europe to be truly sustainable, an ambitious strategy is necessary. That’s the spirit of a letter signed by CEMR secretary general, Frédéric Vallier, also endorsed by the 30 high-level members of the "EU SDG multi-stakeholder platform", who met in Brussels, on 11 October 2018.

Call for donations: Solidarity with the people of Indonesia
CEMR joins UCLG’s call for solidarity with Indonesia and its local governments. A deadly tsunami has recently hit the country, causing at least 1,400 deaths and putting immense pressure on local governments. An international call for donations has therefore been launched, which you are invited to join. -

Water: a local issue
Water is a fundamental right, and guaranteeing access to drinking water and sanitation is crucial for many local and regional governments. At the World Water Forum, our global organisation UCLG is co-organising the “International Conference of Local and Regional Authorities on Water” on 20-21 March in Brasilia. You can register for the Forum until 28 February. -

Pour un accès aux données transparent et standardisé, pour de meilleures capacités de gouvernance et de finance au niveau infranational, et pour collecter des données avec un réseau mondial d’experts et d’institutions : l’Observatoire mondial des finances des collectivités territoriales a été lancé le 17 novembre. Cette initiative a été lancée par l’OCDE et CGLU. Le CCRE a contribué aux discussions sur les activités de l’Observatoire dans les années à venir. -
