Deadline to register to the joint ceremony with Mayors Adapt was extended
You will therefore have until 11 October to register for the joint ceremony organised by the Covenant of Mayors and Mayors Adapt, to be held at the European Parliament on 15 October.
An updated agenda is therefore available. -

Don’t miss this opportunity to help shape the future of the Covenant of Mayors! The Covenant of Mayors has launched a survey to gather feedback on its future. This survey, translated in all EU languages, is open for participation until 23 September 2015. The results of the survey are expected to be published in October 2015. -

Participate in an online survey to shape the future of the Covenant of Mayors
The Covenant of Mayors secretariat launched a survey to gather feedback from all local government, networks representing them and other stakeholders on the future of the initiative: whether, and how, the Covenant of Mayors could move towards ambitious new goals?
The results of the survey will feed into the own-initiative opinion on the Covenant future that the Committee of the Regions is currently preparing and will provide inputs to the European Commission's policy on the initiative.
The questionnaire is available in all EU languages and the deadline to participate is 23 September 2015.

Sustainable Energy Week - 03.06.2015
A conference about local governments' contribution to a more sustainable Europe
The Covenant of Mayors is organising one day session on "European cities driving the energy transition", on 17 June 2015. The conference will highlight how local governments can lead initiatives to contribute to the EU energy and climate objectives.
The first part of the session will focus on how concrete urban initiatives contribute to the EU Energy Union objectives. The second part will discuss how to involve other stakeholders working at the local level.
The registration deadline is 8 June 2015. -

Covenant of Mayors: A 6-year commitment in figures
The report, published by the European Commission, provides main statistics on local reduction of greenhouse gas emissions and energy consumption in areas such as public transport, waste management and municipal public lighting .
The Covenant of Mayors was launched in 2008 by the European Commission and it has since then been signed by more than 6 000 municipalities and regions, committed to reduce CO2 emissions by 20% by 2020. -
