CEMR to work closely with EU Commission's DG Energy
CEMR presented its energy network and its activities on energy issues to the EU Energy Commissioner, Andris Piebalgs, in Brussels on 17 October 2005
CEMR secretary general Jeremy Smith informed Andris Piebalgs that CEMR is preparing a response to the Green Paper on energy efficiency, and a guidebook to help municipalities develop sustainable energy policies.
Mr Piebalgs stressed that local and regional authorities are key actors for implementing energy efficiency measures.
