Environment - 27.02.2006

The website of the Green Week 2006 is online!
The theme of the Green Week 2006 is biodiversity. Central to the event is the conference, where an assessment will be made of the commitment EU leaders took in 2001 to halt the loss of biodiversity in the EU by 2010.
The website features general information on the conference, including an outline of the conference programme, a newsletter and an application form for the Green Week exhibition. About 70 stands are available for organisations and businesses to present themselves. The deadline for applications is 17 March 2006.

Furthermore, a school competition will be held. More information in several languages as well as an application form are available on the Green Week School Competition website. Deadline for entries is 25 March 2006.
Green week is an annual initiative of the European Commission since 2001 to promote the environment. It is an opportunity to exchange experiences and best practices among NGO's, businesses, levels of governance and the public. This year's Green Week will take place from 30 May to 2 June in Brussels.
