The 'Stop discrimination" truck to start its tour of Europe
The 'Stop discrimination" truck hits the road again! It will leave Brussels on 22 March 2005 and will end its tour of Europe in Vienna, in July, after having visited 23 municipalities in 15 EU Member States.

This European information campaign aims, as last year's, at informing the public on the different European and national legislations in the field of combating discrimination at workplaces. Activities will be organised on the truck's 60 m2 stage. Visitors can take part to a 'Europe Quiz" on non-discrimination: participants are asked to submit to the jury the most original picture that represents diversity.

'Diversity ambassadors", nationals or politic personalities will be at disposal for the national and local press during this new itinerant campaign.

The public will also receive information material about the different ways of combating discrimination and to access to guaranteed rights of the legislation.

The most innovative development since last year is the lift that guarantees people in wheelchairs to access the truck easily. Similarly, the film 'For diversity. Against discrimination" will be adapted to people with poor eyesight.

This EU initiative is coordinated by ministries, NGOs, trade unions and employers' associations of each state visited by the truck. It is part of the EU anti discrimination action plan.
