UN Global Goals - 23.05.2017
Contribute to UCLG's campaign
It is time to make the Global Goals a reality in our towns and regions. Our global organisation, United Cities and Local Governments (UCLG), wants to make local governments’ voices heard on this front, and calls for your contribution. Here is their call:
Local and regional governments will be on the front line of localizing the 2030 and New Urban Agendas in their communities. UCLG will be fostering local and regional government action through the #Local4Action and #Regions4Action campaign.
Over the coming years, UN Member States will report on their progress towards the achievement of the SDGs at the UN. UCLG and the Global Taskforce will complement these reports with #Local4Action and #Regions4Action, providing vital information about how action by local and regional governments is contributing to the achievement of the SDGs.
If you are active at local level and you want to contribute to our global voice follow us and contribute to the #Local4Action and #Regions4Action hashtags

Local and regional governments were active in the consultations on the 2030 and New Urban Agendas, bringing the priorities, experiences and perspectives of local and regional governments to the global table. Our successful #Listen2Cities campaign called on the international community to take our perspectives into account in the development of the global agendas.
Thanks to the efforts of our members and partners, we achieved the inclusion of SDG 11 on sustainable cities and human settlements in the 2030 Agenda, and a robust framework for the implementation of the New Urban Agenda, which includes priorities such as subsidiarity, the Right to the City, multilevel governance and integrated territorial development.
Now it’s time to make the global goals a reality from the bottom up.
