First forum of EMAS-registered local authorities (15 Oct. Germany)
The first forum of EMAS-registered local authorities will take place on 15 October 2004 in Ludwigsburg (Germany).
The event will show the benefits of responsible management for local authorities in issues ranging from air and noise pollution to waste and land-use management.
Dieter Hillebrand, Secretary of State from the Ministry of the Environment and Transport Baden-Württemberg, and Timo Makela, Director of Sustainable development and Integration in DG Environment of the European commission, will open the forum.
The debates will be held in German, English, Italian, Spanish and French.
EMAS is a DG Environment of the European Commission's initiative, supported by CEMR. Some 130 local authorities have adhered to it to date.
