City - 18.06.2004
Sustainable urban development conference (The Hague, 16-17 September)
The city of The Hague (The Netherlands) will host the conclusion conference of the Peer Review for Sustainable Urban Development (PRESUD) project on 16-17 September 2004.
The PRESUD project was launched three years ago. It brought together nine European cities (Vienna, Venice, Birmingham, Leipzig, Nottingham, The Hague, Newcastle, Malmo, Tampere); its aim was to develop a tool to assess progress towards sustainable development at the urban level.
The September conference's main aim is to present the tool to other European municipalities and to share with them the knowledge and skills gained throughout the duration of the project.
Delegates will include representatives from the nine cities involved in the project and from the European Commission as well as scholars that took part in the project.
Note : CEMR co-organised the Aalborg+10 conference (9-11 June 2004) on sustainable urban development.
