European conference on sustainable cities and towns: Play an active role!
European local governments are invited to bring their contribution to the European conference on sustainable cities and towns 'Taking the commitments to the Streets", in Sevilla, on 21-24 March 2007.
The fifth European conference on sustainable cities and towns is aimed at giving insight into the progress and achievements of European local governments in implementing the Aalborg Commitments and furthering local sustainability.
Practitioners and experts working for and with local governments and those setting framework conditions for local action are invited to submit their proposals for a case presentation, training session, poster presentation or networking event.
The call for contribution is available on 'Sevilla 2007" website.
The deadline for submission of abstracts is 30 September 2006.
The Sevilla conference will be streamlined around the 10 focus themes of the Aalborg Commitments, among which the equitable access to natural common goods, the prudent and efficient use of resources as well as the recognition of the interdependence of transport, health and environment.
English will be the main conference language. Spanish, Italian and French will be available in all plenaries as well as in some workshops sessions.
Sevilla conference is co-organised with the Council of European Municipalities and Regions (CEMR).
