Conference on Intelligent Transport Systems (Saint-Brieuc/France 15-16 June 2006)
The Côtes d'Armor's general council and its partners are organising a conference on Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) in Saint-Brieuc on 15-16 June 2006.
The theme of the conference will be "Intelligent Transport Systems : new applications for new markets". This conference will explore new ways ITS are being used in a wide variety of sectors such as safety, mobility, intermodal transportation, environment, traffic management, services for the mobility-impaired and logistics, as well as determine which new products, services and networks will best meet the needs of these sectors.
Two years after the GIS (Groupement d'Intérêt Scientifique - Scientific Interest Group) ITS Bretagne was established, manufacturers and research teams will be presenting the initial results of their work.
The best local, national, European, and world experiments will be presented and discussed throughout the conference in plenary sessions and theme-based workshops. Information sessions will be added to this international dimension. These sessions will present European policies and programs concerning road safety, the information society and land transportation research.
These new ITS applications are creating new markets for businesses. However, information and public acceptance is needed for them to work.
For more information on the programme and registration, please visit the Côtes d'Armor's general council's website.
