The Adriatic Euroregion will be born on 6 February!
The Adriatic Euroregion will be officially created on 6 February in Venice.
The Adriatic Euroregion is an initiative of the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe; its mission will be to promote transborder cooperation at the local and regional levels, in the fields of the environment, tourism, culture, agriculture, fisheries and transport.
The Congress of Local and Regional Authorities took the decision to create the Adriatic Euroregion in Novembre 2004, at the occasion of the Termoli conference, in Italy.
In all, twenty regions around the Adriatic Sea, totalling over 20 million inhabitants, are part of the initiative.
The head of the organisation is the president of the region of Istria, Ivan Iakovic.
