Climate and energy transition

The "achieving innovation and best practices in urban management" conference will take place in Ipoh City, Malaysia, on 8-9 March 2005.

 

Its aim is to act as an information-sharing forum on best practice of sustainable development through decentralised cooperation between Europe's and Asia's local/regional governments.

 

Several sessions and workshops are on the agenda, such as challenges in urban management, EU-Asia decentralised cooperation, info-sharing on sustainable urbanisation...

 

Speakers to the conference will include the Prime minister of Malaysia, Dato' Seri Abdullah Haji Ahmad Badawi; former CEMR président, Valéry Giscard d'Estaing, EU ambassador to Malaysia, Thierry Rommel...

 

The conference is an initiative of the Perak State government of the Perak State government of Malaysia in collaboration with Glasgow city council, Helsinki city council, Ancona and Cornwall county council. It is co-funded by the European Commission and is supported by the Council of European Municipalities and Regions.
