Europe 2030 - 03.04.2018

CEMR President hands Congress President our book on the future of Europe
Over the past two years, we have gathered the stories of hundreds of local leaders, great witnesses of our time, men, women, young and old, with the aim of drawing a vision for Europe in 2030,” stated CEMR President Stefano Bonaccini*, as he handed a copy of our latest publication, “Europe 2030: Local leaders speak out”, to the President of the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities, Gudrun Mosler-Törnström.

He invited all those who believe in Europe and democracy to read our book. It is a collection of visions for the future of Europe from more than 100 local and regional leaders, from all over our continent, and a synthesis of thoughts and analyses.

President Mosler-Törnström, who is also Vice-President of the Salzburg Parliament, is one of the local leaders who shared her vision for Europe in 2030. Other contributors were also present: CEMR Co-President Gunn Marit Helgesen** and Committee of the Regions President Karl-Heinz Lambertz, among others.

As he addressed the audience, President Bonaccini also invited everyone to join us at our conference on Equality, Diversity and Inclusion in Bilbao, from 11 to 13 June. Hundreds of local leaders and experts will be there, to exchange on how Europe’s towns and regions can move towards societies that embrace equality, diversity and inclusion.
