Covenant of Mayors - 18.09.2017
What can be done locally to protect the planet? Join the workshop during the European Week of Regions and Cities
Discover how the Covenant of Mayors can help your city fight climate change and even influence national policy. Come to the Covenant of Mayors’ workshop during the European Week of Regions and Cities (EWRC):
The Covenant of Mayors can be heralded as the world’s largest urban climate and energy initiative because it fostered concrete action at local level, and thanks to its substantial boost to multi-level governance. Since 2008, a large array of stakeholders joined forces with cities to help them make their aspirations a reality.
How can local governments be supported in their path to resilience and energy transition? What are the synergies between local action plans and national and regional policy frameworks? How can cross-scale exchanges among actors cooperating on the ground be encouraged?
Useful information
The workshop will take place on 10 October from 2:30 to 5 pm in Brussels, at the European Comittee of the Regions, room JDE52, rue Belliard 99-101. Don’t forget to register for the event (workshop code: 10B36) before 29 September. In the meanwhile, make sure you have a look at the programme.
