Eurostat - 13.11.2012

Get an overview of developments at regional level thanks to 2012 regional yearbook
In which European region does agriculture contribute the most to the economy? Which region is the most densely populated? Where is the unemployment rate the lowest and where is the gross domestic product (GDP) per inhabitant the highest?.

All of these questions and more are explored in the 2012 regional yearbook, published by the European Union’s statistical office, Eurostat.  The yearbook provides an overview of recent economic, social and demographic developments in the local and regional authorities of the 27 EU member states, Iceland, Norway, Switzerland, Croatia, Montenegro, the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia and Turkey.

An interactive statistical atlas was launched at the same occasion displaying maps of the regions, including their rivers, cities and roads, in order to provide a visual of the statistics outlined in the yearbook.
