Sustainable territorial and local development

The Dutch government, in co-operation with the Dutch Urban II and Objective 2 cities, is organising on 27-28 May 2004 in the cities of Maastricht and Heerlen a two day conference on European cooperation and urban policy.

 

On 27 May the focus will be on strategic issues such as promoting entrepreneurship, economy, innovation and local involvement, environment and safety and networking.

 

The second day, the 28th of May, will be mainly focused on real hands-on experience. Questions as 'How to create job opportunities in deprived areas?" and 'How to deal with safety issues without stimulating segregation" will be answered through the experienced gained by European city projects.
