Cities of Migration - 13.08.2010
Cities of Migration Conference: from immigration to integration
The 2010 International Cities of Migration Conference will be held on 3 and 4 October 2010 in The Hague during which the theme 'Migration to Integration: An Opportunity Agenda for Cities" will be addressed by a number of mayors, migration experts and local practitioners.
The main message to be put forward at this occasion will be "integration as a critical dimension of urban prosperity and growth".
Other topics on the agenda include the impact of migration on local realities, how municipal leadership can contribute to creating the right conditions for social cohesion and urban prosperity and how media shapes public opinion on migration issues.
The conference is organised by Cities of Migration in association with the City of The Hague and the 15th International Metropolis.
Cities of Migration is an international initiative led by the Maytree Foundation which aims at connecting global cities around common issues of migration and immigrant integration.
