Communicating Europe - 10.05.2008

How to communicate Europe at a local level? (CoR Forum: 17-18 June)
The Committee of the Regions will hold a forum aimed to address "communication of EU activity at a decentralised level to networks of regions and cities", on 17-18 June, in Brussels.

The forum offers a platform for exchange of experiences, views and strategies specific to the field of communication. The event is designed to encourage dialogue and open discussion on how to more effectively communicate the added value offered by the EU. Ten presentations of practical examples of decentralised communication will be delivered by various communication specialists.

This forum takes place against the backdrop of the ongoing ratification process of the Lisbon Treaty, which contains new provisions in favour of local and regional authorities, and in the run-up to the forthcoming European elections in June 2009.

An exhibition featuring examples of relevant 'best practice" for communication on the EU at local and regional level will be organised at the Committee of the Regions (Jacques Delors Building, 5th floor).
