The second world congress of United Cities and Local Governments (UCLG) will take place in Jeju, South Korea, from 28 to 31 October 2007.

The organizers expect around 2,000 local representatives from 150 countries under the general theme "Changing cities are driving our world".

The three main issues addressed at the congress will be:

- Cities the future of humanity; addressing climate change.

- City diplomacy: Local governments building peace

- 2015: a fairer world is possible. Local governments in a new global governance.

The founding congress of UCLG took place in Paris, in 2004. CEMR is the European section of UCLG.
