Eurovignette Directive : CEMRS calls on Parliament to improve proposal
CEMR has published its position paper on the draft "eurovignette directive" on which the European Parliament must vote (17 march).
There are a number of issues of concern to CEMR both in the Commission's proposal and the amendments that have been tabled, in particular:
- CEMR is against proposed amendements that would make the provisions of the Directive apply to all road tolls (including at the local level): this could be very problematic in particular as the proposal currently limits considerably the amounts that can be charged for congestion and pollution
