Paolo Gentiloni, the incoming European Commissioner for Economy, will be responsible for overseeing the European Union’s implementation of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). That’s the news as reported by Politico following talks between President-Elect Ursula von der Leyen and the Socialists & Democrats Group in the European Parliament. The new Commission still needs to be approved by the Parliament.
