PLATFORMA Forum: What multi-actor partnerships for Europe and its partner countries?

Local elected representatives, civil society members, development cooperation experts and European Union officials are to meet on 2 and 3 April 2012 in Florence, Italy, to discuss existing and potential partnership models between local and regional governments and non-governmental organisations in Europe and EU partner countries.

The annual Forum is organised by PLATFORMA, the European platform of local and regional authorities for development.  It will focus on how these partnerships can evolve and what added-value they bring to developing local democracy, to improving participatory democracy and to ensuring a better access to basic services will also be discussed.

The outcomes of the debate will help strengthen PLATFORMA’s activities and dialogue with the EU institutions in the coming months.

The Forum, dubbed “Development and participatory governance – Which multi-actor partnerships in Europe and in partner countries?”, is to be hosted by the Tuscany region and AICCRE, the Italian section of the Council of European Municipalities and Regions (CEMR).
