As John Ruskin famously said: “Quality is never an accident. It is always the result of intelligent effort.” Although he was an art critic, he might have been referring to local and regional governments.

If the quality of local and regional public administration is important to you, then you must come to the international conference on “Quality of Public Administration at Local and Regional Level”, on 20-21 September, in Prague.

This conference will be an opportunity to exchange and discuss how to improve the quality of local and regional public administration on many levels: efficient and transparent operations, cooperation with local stakeholders, or even simplification and use of electronic tools in public administration. Experts and representatives from the Council of Europe will also be present to share good quality practices from its member states. Among other high-profile participants, the mayor of Prague, Adriana Krnáčová, and the Czech minister of the Interior, Milan Chovanec, will be speaking at the conference.

On the second day, an excursion to a local or regional office is planned, to bear witness of the quality of public administration on the ground.
