CEMR undertakes to promote online local public administration
The Council of European Municipalities and Regions (CEMR) and the European Foundation for Information Society signed an agreement for the promotion of online local public administration, on 1 October 2011, in Rybnik (Poland).

The two entities, CEMR and the foundation, acknowledge the need to facilitate citizens' electronic access to public administration. This access is a measure of social justice and opportunity for all. It constitutes an important factor of economic and human development for all European citizens.

The agreement was signed by the President of the European Foundation for Information Society, Enrique Barón Crespo, and the President of the Council of European Municipalities and Regions (CEMR), Wolfgang Schuster.

What is the European Foundation for the Information Society?

The European Foundation for Information Society is an organisation declared as public utility, to promote and support the use of new technologies for public administrations of member countries of the EU.
